Changi Village Hotel 2016 Day 2+3
06 December 2016Day 02 | One of the things that we always look forward to with hotel stays is the buffet breakfast!
Although modest, the buffet spread at the Saltwater Café was more-than-fulfilling with a sprinkle of local and international cuisine, pastries, tim sum, egg and noodle counter, salad, fruits and juices, cereal and hot beverages.
Came across this food dispensing machine in the lobby. For ~$6, one can enjoy piping hot tze char dishes like fried rice. We chanced upon a guest who bought from the machine; the aroma was heavenly although the portion looked quite small.
In the planning of the itinerary for Day 2, we had a couple of options such as taking the rustic coastal walk or even an excursion to Pulau Ubin! But both ideas were canned because we had the baby in tow and these places are not exactly clean (more figuratively than literally).
So we crossed the road to the CSC@ Changi for a bowling session. As civil servants, we got a discounted rate of $3.20 per game (off peak). But the sleepy baby became startled by the loud thumps when we threw the ball so the session was cut short.
We then took the free hotel shuttle to Changi Airport where the lure of BIG BIG planes and BIG BIG Pikachu awaited.
Coven’s favourite section has got to be Terminal 1 viewing gallery where he was spoilt between watching the taxiing planes and practising his climbing skills at the mini playground.
We also traversed between the terminals, joining in the Poké trail and earning ourselves the grand prize of… a pokemon sticker.
With the skies breaking up into a downpour, we had McDonalds takeaway before taking the shuttle back to the hotel.
Day 03 | With a bit of time after breakfast and before our check-out timing at 12 noon, we sneaked in another dip at the rooftop pool.
This time, baby Coven wailed when we had to come out of the pool. After much coaxing, he muttered ‘bbye bbye’ to the pool which marked a teary (but happy) end to our staycation. And yea, we will definitely be back.
