Changi Village Hotel 2017 Day 2+3
19 November 2017Day 02+03 | We woke up prematurely at 6am, groggy from the repeated knocking that sounded in the room throughout the night.
Feeling uneasy, we requested for a room change at the front desk en route to Saltwater Cafe for breakfast.
After refueling on the buffet spread, it's off to Changi Beach for our morning fun!
We are not exactly beach people so we did the condensed suite of sandcastle building, sand drawing, pebble throwing and feet soaking.
Papa got a couple of mementos from the activity: a dozen sandfly bites!! The only consolation is that mama and Coven were spared.
Tired from the visit to the beach, we returned to the sanctuary of the hotel room and club lounge. Breakfast was still served so we had seconds!
We were jolted from our afternoon naps by the shrill ringing of our room phone. It was the front desk calling to inform us of the the availability of a room for changing.
So we moved into our new room which incidentally had a seaview and we could watch the descent of aeroplanes into Changi Airport!
Swimming was next as we spent a good hour kick-kicking and blowing bubbles in the lukewarm waters.
Naughty Coven kept asking papa to go behind him after which he would turn around and flutter-kick up a splash. Papa would then retaliate with splashes of water in his direction sending him into shrieking fits.
For dinner, we had takeouts from Changi Village, supplemented with finger food (beancurd skin rolls, chicken karage, sandwiches) and cocktail from the lounge.
Seeing that sandplay and swimming was not enough to drain Coven's boundless energy, we put him through a gym session: walking the gym ball, working the rower machine and treadmill.
Coven knocked out punctually at 8pm. Mama returned to her Korean drama (yawn) while papa went outdoors to watch the stars and chill over green tea at the lounge.
With the late checkout on Day 3, we slept in abit, had a leisurely paced breakfast and another dip in the pool.
The rainy weather continued with a downpour around lunch time. So for our last few hours, we snuggled in our cozy room and kept warm with hot coffee and milo (we got instant milo sachets from the provision shops @ Changi Village).
Despite our repeated visits to the hotel, the experience just gets better each time. This time, the service and hospitality was outstanding. Given our penchant to go for the familiar, we are more than likely to be back.
So see you again Changi Village hotel.
