As part of the tour package, we got a 2-day stay at Dubai.

 

EU offered an optional land tour package which we were reluctant to take up, again because of the inflated price. Fortunately, we met a resourceful trip mate who scoured the internet and managed to secure the same package at a fraction of the price.

 

We touched down in Dubai in the morning. As the rest of the tour group embarked on their city tour, we took the taxi to our hotel – Copthorne Dubai.

 

After checking in, we walked to Deira City Centre Mall for lunch. Most shops were closed and the streets were barren as the locals had gone for their prayer sessions. Since 2006, Friday and Saturday has been declared the weekend in Dubai.

 

After lunch, we concussed on the super-comfy bed. After sleeping on hotel beds for the past week, trust me when I say the hotel bed in Copthorne is heavenly.

 

After our snooze, we squeezed in a workout at the gym. A thing to note is that the hotel gym has specific timings for male and female so do check them before going.

 

In the evening, we took a taxi to Dubai Mall which flaunts the riches of the city.

 

 

Entering the mall, we were greeted by a giant aquarium with where schools of fishes and exotic sharks and sting rays dance gracefully around the corals.

 

 

We had dinner in a Chinese restaurant, alfresco style, tucking in the dishes to the beautiful views around the mall.

 

 

After dinner,we caught the musical fountain show where water jets and light projections skip around joyfully to the beautiful music.
