KSL + Sanrio Hello Kitty Town 2017 Day 2+3

07 June 2017

Day 02 | Breakfast was same same. Same spread of food, same wispy Kenny G tunes. In fact, Kenny G was in the air throughout the hotel; if you paid attention, you could even hear it in the room!

After breakfast, we planned to hail a cab to get to Hello Kitty Town @Puteri Harbour. Having watched one too many Hollywood thrillers, I was mildly worried about taking cabs in a foreign country.

But there was a rather professional-looking cab booth situated at the hotel lobby with a chart of the approximate prices for each location (MYR$55 to Hello Kitty Theme Park). Like Singapore taxis, the fare runs by meter and the driver's ID are displayed in the car. The one that we took even had the driver's name printed on the door (like fighter plane sia)! And did I mention that the driver had namecards?

We reached ~10 mins before the park opened at 10 am. While waiting, we ran into another family who was trying to locate the theme park. When I gestured to the building that we were standing in front of, the dad went: “this is it?!”

That was my exact reaction during our first visit. I guess many first-time visitors would be expecting a vast theme park akin to Legoland. But it is actually a 4-story building with all the goodness packed inside (including aircon!).

Sometimes you don’t realise how much they have grown until you pull off stunts like this.

Again we started with a cookie making session @ Wishful studio. The smelly table mats were gone!

We then joined the 11am Barney show! Baby Coven was frightened by the loud music during the last visit so we settled down a good few metres away from the stage. Coven seemed to enjoy it better this time round, especially when the bubbles filled the air.

Use your imagination to make Barney appear!.

Coven ran wild at the Bob the Builder play structure, rummaging through the ball pit, climbing up the scaffolds and sliding down the tall tall slides. Whee~

After a quick lunch @Kenny Rogers, we continued our adventures @ the Level 3 rides.

On board Bertie the Bus.
On board Thomas the Train.

Coven loves it when the train goes into the dark tunnel, possibly having read about tunnels in Peppa Pig books.

While Coven napped, the adults continued our fun in the Pingu’s Igloo. There was the assortment of old school amusement park games like whacking the mole, air hockey, tossing hoops etc.

Coven had one final dose of fun @ Barney’s yard going round and round, up the ramps and down the slide. Check out the way he runs! Does it remind you of Phoebe from Friends?

We had arranged with the morning’s cabby to fetch us back @ 5pm. As we exited the theme park, we couldn’t resist getting the Shilin XXL crispy chicken combo even though dinner was next on the itinerary.

The correct way to eat Wanton Mee!

Big feet; little feet. With the hotel provided slippers!

Day 03 | We woke up in a cheery mood to a gorgeous sunrise.

Do I look pretty?
New past-time: stacking the egg shells.

After breakfast, we went to the Games Room to play table tennis (MYR$5 per hour).

Yak! Check out my serve!

While doing some last meeting shopping @KSL Mall, we passed by the UFO catcher machines again. And Coven had his eye on a Snoopy plushie which was in a relatively favorable 'position'. So once again, at lightning speed, ah gong changed 12 tokens for mama to have a go at it.

Like before, each time we had a good grip of the plushie, it would drop before it reaches the opening. And with each attempt, the position of Snoopy became less and less favorable. We were down to our last 2 tokens. Papa was planning to get another 12 when the moment of magic happened.

The claw grabbed Snoopy precariously by the legs, shaking teasingly as it moved towards the opening.. and tadah, mama has done it again! Papa attributed it to good luck though mama swore it was the ‘power of the mind’.

We had our final lunch @Jus Two Acia, which bears uncanny resemblance to our local Just Acia. Coven had his eyes set on one item on the menu. Ice-cream!

Papa’s sambal nasi goreng.
Home sweet home.
